Description

I’ve had several people describe the smut in “Forget Me Not” as “beautiful filth”, and it’s spot on. You don’t really get very in depth with their characters beyond them having a hell of a lot of sex and making flowery love declarations. The fated mate/soulmate trope is my all-time favorite romance trope, and “Forget Me Not” is like a deep dive into what the trope means. I quickly abandon that line of thought when the image of Silas and Logan at the bar reminds me of the way Silas looked sitting there with that woman last night. When I opened my eyes it was with a content sigh, rolling sidelong to face the man who laid in bed with me.

Books, dog-eared and browning around the edges from wear, several samples of dried flowers picked during his planetary travels weaseling their way out of the folded pages.I love the subtle world building in “Forget Me Not”, it definitely leaves the option of sequels open in the future. He planned to catch a ride on the freighter ship back to the Otera and trade his way to riches—sticking around just long enough to make his peace with the mainland, and then become a ghost.

The taverna is the only place that Kostas and Defne can meet in secret, hidden beneath the blackened beams from which hang garlands of garlic and chilli peppers, creeping honeysuckle, and in the centre, growing through a cavity in the roof, a fig tree. I'm a reader who values the experience of reading a book just as highly as the book itself, and "Forget Me Not" managed to nail both categories perfectly. With a press down, I let it dip inside of me, imagining it’s Silas again—but the fantasy is immediately shot to hell when I hear the loud bang of a fist against the outside of the pod door. You will be randomly doing dishes, or staring off into space and a scene will hit you out of nowhere. The intruiging premise coupled with the beautiful writing makes this story dreamlike, alluring, and romantic. He gestures in the direction of the steel elevator doors across the room as they open, and a drove of people make their way into the common area.

Food and drink, efflorescence, incense, oils, natural medicines, the fruits of the land that were recycled into every edge of society. With that being said, do be warned that the book relies more on the romance than any world building or plot. And according to the residents of the Japanese island of Okinawa - the world's longest-living people - finding it is the key to a longer and more fulfilled life. Silas looks back and forth between Logan and I, finding my eyes, and I shrug at him like I don’t know the right answer. Waking up 117 years later, Bob discovers his mind has been uploaded into a sentient space probe with the ability to replicate itself. You have Eliza's POV sections which are standard, but then with Silas's POV sections they're written as if there's like two Elizas, an all-knowing narrator Eliza and a character Eliza. It might be seen as emotional cheating (which is something that bothers me) but I wasn't bothered much. The writing was really great, but it just felt very wrong to read a two pov story both written in just one of the MCs, first person perspective.

I felt like there could have been less build up and more exploration of Silas and Eliza’s relationship. I would say there’s a soft TW for emotional infidelity but it’s far more complicated than that as the FMC sees the MMC in her dreams and thinks he’s just something conjured by her imagination.

I thought there was sort of a friendship between Silas and Logan so it just made me feel bad and then mixed with the first person omniscient it made me feel even more gross. Silas, the unknown man in Eliza’s dreams has spent most of his life as a contract pirate, formally known as a Mako, mining the unexplored lands of dangerous moons to earn a living. The 9 Step Negativity Detox is a powerful series that will teach you the nine simple steps to free you from the unnecessary causes of negativity in your life. Silas leans back against his chair and sighs, downing the contents of his glass and waving a hand at the bartender to end the night.
