Halloween Ends slices up 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray with a two-disc 4K UHD + Blu-ray + Digital set. The 4K version is pressed on a BD-100 with the 1080p offering up a BD-50 disc. The discs are housed in a two-disc case with slipcover artwork. The discs load to static image main menus with standard navigation options along the bottom and the bonus features menu along the right side of the screen. Yet, when a local boy is accused of murdering his babysitting charge, Laurie sees the possibilities. She has no choice but to finally deal with the monster who has been such a huge influence on her life.
Halloween Ends is typical of most studio horror films shot in the 21 st century – shot digitally on Arri Alexa cameras, with the anamorphic process used to mimic the original look and feel of the original films, resulting in a 4K digital intermediate. Sure, it might very well bring this current trilogy of reboot/sequel films to a close -- it follows on the popular Halloween and Halloween Kills -- but really is this the very end of the What's going to bother me now is that the 2018 Halloween could have been titled "Halloween Begins." So that Kills and Ends would make better sense contextually. To make matters worse though, Halloween Ends doesn't cover Michael Myers whatsoever, but rather a guy named Corey, who is babysitting a rotten child he accidentally kills in the first scene. It's clear from here that Corey might take on the mantle of the new Michael Myers label. His run-ins with the townspeople and even his own mother are a horror story where everyone is comically mean and rude to him, bearing no resemblance to the real world. It's with this hate that he wants to inherit Myers's power somehow, but his crush on Laurie's granddaughter has him thinking twice.Halloween Ends may prove to be the most divisive entry in the series since Halloween III, and that film only because it really had nothing to do
